A report says Hyundai plans to build the N Vision 74, in very small numbers
Hyundai
Korean outlet ET News reports that Hyundai has confirmed plans to put the N Vision 74 into production. The company will allegedly build a limited run of 100 vehicles, and production will reportedly commence in the first half of 2026.
Per the report, 70 of the units will be available to customers. The other 30 will be kept by the company to use for racing.
The production N Vision 74 may be more powerful than initially thought
Hyundai
Hyundai's concept version of the N Vision 74 estimated 671 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque from its hydrogen fuel cell hybrid. But according to ET News the production version could pack 800 horsepower and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about three seconds.
Per the report, Hyundai shifted the emphasis to high output at the expense of efficiency and practicality. So the car's range may be somewhere between 248 and 310 miles vs. 370 miles (by a more generous standard than the EPA uses).
Hyundai never ruled out building a production N Vision 74
Hyundai
Hyundai did not have a concrete plan to build a production version of the N Vision 74 in May. But the brand has given hints that it wants the car to happen.
Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai's chief creative officer, told TopGear, "I hate doing show cars and then — nothing." He also noted that Hyundai could "absolutely" build an N Vision 74: “We are serious about this. This could come into production. We have the platform — it’s a motorsport platform."
And Hyundai filed a trademark application for "Hyundai N74"
